Volunteer Event, Friday 8 June, 2-4pm.  Afternoon tea and get-together for all our volunteers: a celebration for all their hard work, help and support.

Friends' Annual General Meeting, Saturday 9 June, 4.30pm.  Reports on the part year's activities, and electing the committee for the coming year.

Jumble Sale, Saturday 23 June, 10am to 2pm.  Sell some unwanted items or come along to pick up a bargain.  You can reserve a table for just £5 to sell (e.g.) unwanted children’s toys and clothes at boot sale prices!  Please register your interest with library staff.  Limited space available.

Mondays 

COMPUTER CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS.  Mondays 1.00pm -- 2.00 pm (also Thursdays 1.00-- 2.00 pm).  Booking essential.

READING OUT LOUD.  Mondays 4.00pm -- 5.30 pm.  1:1 reading sessions for children aged 6+ . Term-time only.  Booking essential.

SCRABBLE CLUB.  Mondays 5.00pm -- 6.00 pm.  Come and join us every Monday - all ages and abilities welcome!  No booking required.
Tuesdays

LOCAL HISTORY COFFEE MORNING.  Tuesday 19 June, 10.30am -- 12 noon.  All England Lawn Tennis Museum.  Refreshments provided; no booking required. 

RENDEZVOUS CLUB.  Tuesdays 1.30pm -- 3.30pm.  Weekly drop-in for over 55s. Get together for tea, cake, quiz, talks, trips out and much more. £2 a week to cover costs. For details, talk to library staff or call Gilli on 020 8543 1781.‚Äč

 Thursdays
KNIT & NATTER.  Thursdays 11.00am -- 1.00pm.  Bring your knitting or crochet. We are a small group of regular knitters. We also knit items for various charities or for sale to raise money for them. Last year we knitted outfits for the 'Fish & Chips' babies in Africa, hats and scarves for the homeless, and twiddle muffs for dementia sufferers. We also held four sales and raised and donated over £290 for the following groups: Hemi Help, Cinnamon Trust, Merton Independent Living, Wimbledon Friendship Group, Hydon Hill Cheshire Home, Friends of West Barnes Library. Free tea or coffee provided.

OPEN COMMUNITY COFFEE AFTERNOON.  Third Thursday of the month (so 21 June this month), 1.30 -- 3.00pm.  Everyone welcome.

 FALUN DAFA. Thursdays 5.30 -- 6.30pm.  Falun Dafa or Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese qigong meditation practice to improve mind and body, with simple easy to learn exercises for all ages and abilities.  No booking required.

Fridays

 FABULOUS FRIDAYS!  10.00 -- 10.45am. 'MAKE MOVE & MELODY TIME' followed by BOOK TIME.  Go wild on Fridays as we tell stories, and sing familiar rhymes and songs.  For 18 months--5 yr olds (babies are welcome). 11.00 -- 11.45 am. 'ROCK RHYME & RHYTHM TIME' Have fun on Fridays as we go on a journey singing, rhyming and rocking (followed by BOOK TIME, when we read, play, chat and chill); for 0--18 months (older children are welcome).  Term time only.  £1.50 per child.

POLICE SURGERY.  Every Friday, 3.00 -- 4.00pm.
Drop in to discuss any issues or concerns with your local police.

BOOK CLUB, Friday 6 July, 6.00 pm.
PHOTOGRAPHY TALK.  Probably on a Friday evening in July; followed by a photography competition over the summer.  Details to follow in the next Newsletter.

Later in the year there will be an AUTUMN FAIR; in October there will be an evening local history talk about the three VCs with a Malden connection; and we also hope to have a further Quiz Night.
