READING OUT LOUD.  Mondays 4.00pm--5.30pm.  1:1 reading sessions for children aged 6+. Term-time only; starts 7 January.  Booking essential.

SCRABBLE CLUB.  Mondays 5.00pm--6.00pm.  Come and join us every Monday - all ages and abilities welcome!  No booking required.

AUTHOR EVENT.  Monday 28 January  AUTHORS' TALK  at 7.30pm.  Rod Reynolds and Amer Anwar will be talking about US Noir vs UK Noir.  So we can gauge the refreshments required, please let us know (via the sign-up sheet at the Library).


KIDDIRAMA TOTS term-time only, starts 8 January, 10.00am--11.00am, on Tuesdays (except for the third Tuesday of each month).  Theatrical Tuesdays is jam-packed with stories, drama, songs, movement and games.  0--5 year olds, £1.50 per child. HEALTH DAY AT WEST BARNES LIBRARY, Tuesday 8 January, 10.00am-- 4.00pm.  Promoting health and wellbeing, stalls include: Health Watch. Merton CIL, Home Instead, Oral Health, Action for Hearing Loss.  No booking required.
1.00pm--2.00pm: British Red Cross First Aid training (for which spaces are limited, so booking is required for this).
2.00pm--3.00pm: "The world through one eye": David Nathan talks about his personal battle and recovery from a major stroke.
3.00pm--4.00pm: Yoga with Sashi.

RENDEZVOUS CLUB.  Tuesdays 1.30pm--3.30pm.  Weekly drop-in for over 55s. Get together for tea, cake, quiz, talks, trips out and much more. £2 a week to cover costs. For details, talk to library staff or call Gilli on 020 8543 1781.‚Äč


KNIT & NATTER.  Thursdays 11.00am--1.00pm.  Bring your knitting or crochet. We are a small group of regular knitters. We also knit items for various charities or for sale to raise money for them. Last year we knitted outfits for the 'Fish & Chips' babies in Africa, hats and scarves for the homeless, and twiddle muffs for dementia sufferers. We also held four sales and raised and donated over £290 for the following: Hemi Help, Cinnamon Trust, Merton Independent Living, Wimbledon Friendship Group, Hydon Hill Cheshire Home, Friends of West Barnes Library. Free tea or coffee provided.

FALUN DAFA. Thursdays 5.30pm--6.30pm.  Falun Dafa or Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese qigong meditation practice to improve mind and body, with simple easy to learn exercises for all ages and abilities.  No booking required.


FABULOUS FRIDAYS!  10.00am--11.45am, term time only.  £1.50 per child per session.  Make Move & Melody Time, followed by Book Time (10.00 am--10.45am, for 18 mths to 5 years old; babies welcome).  Rock Rhyme & Rhythm Time, followed by Book Time (10.45am--11.45am; babies to 18 months, older children welcome).

ANCESTRY WORKSHOP.  Friday 18 January, 2.00pm--4.00pm.  Learn how to use the Ancestry website and discover your roots.  Please book with Library staff.

CRIME & THRILLERS BOOK CLUB, Friday 18 January, 6.00pm.

COLOUR AND CHAT.  Every Saturday, 2.00pm--4.00pm.  Relax, unwind and join the new colouring craze.
